The deadline day was relatively quiet with a couple of signings and few loan deals.
Joshua King switches to Everton
Joshua King joins Everton on a short-term deal till the end of the Season. His contract was due to expire at the end of the season at championship outfit Bournemouth. Everton will pay a nominal fee for the transfer.
King’s contract will have an option to extend his deal up further. This signing would certainly add some depth to the Toffee’s frontline and solidify their ambitions of European football. Everton were looking at him in the summer but have finally landed their man for a bargain.
Southampton loan Takumi Minamino for rest of the season.
Minamino has been finding himself on the fringes since his arrival at Anfield with only 4 first-team appearances. He replaces Shane Long at Southampton who moved to championship side Bournemouth to replace Joshua King there.
Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhüttl said in an interview that he is excited to acquire a player who can play in a lot of positions. Minamino would certainly add much-needed depth to the first team. Southampton finds themselves on a 4 match losing streak after their 9-0 demolition by the hands of Manchester United.
Brighton swoop in for Moises Caicedo
Brighton hove Albion has signed Ecuadorian international Moises Caicedo from Independiente del Valle. Manchester United is one of the clubs which were interested in signing the player earlier. The deal is believed to be worth 4 million pounds, a bargain if the promising teenager lives up to his potential.
Liverpool recruit Ben Davies and Ozan Kabak
The reds have finally decided to sign two center backs. Joel Matip, the team’s last fit senior center back sustained an injury last week against Tottenham. West Brom loan 2 players
Ainsley-Maitland Niles and Okay Yokuslu have joined the Baggies on a 6-month loan. Maitland-Niles, who has five England caps, is Albion’s fifth signing of the window. He found himself at the fringes of Arsenal and this move allows him to play more first-team football. West Brom is 19th in the league, with 9 points adrift safety. Sam Allardyce would be hoping that these signings could help the Baggies escape the drop.
In other key deals around the day, Bordeaux has loaned Joshua Maja to Fulham for the remainder of the season. Fulham is looking for reinforcements in a desperate bid to escape relegation. Meanwhile, Newcastle United have loaned Joe Willock from Arsenal for the remainder of the season.
